SUSTAINABILITY
MFT understands that sustainability is the efficient combination of economy and ecology.
For us, the responsible use of resources already started with the company building in Mayen, which was newly constructed in 2017, taking into account ecological, economic and social aspects, equipped with the latest technology and operated efficiently using only renewable energies.
Conversion of the vehicle fleet
Most of the MFT fleet has already been converted to hybrid and fully electronic drive technology and the in-house electric charging stations are also available to our visitors for charging their vehicles.
Low CO2 emissions in production
A significant part of MFT's portfolio consists of aluminium products whose production is highly energy-intensive.
Conscious of our global responsibility we take care to purchase from producers with low CO2 emissions.
Use of recycled materials
The conscious pursuit of sustainability as a guiding principle of MFT is also reflected in our strong commitment to the secondary aluminium market. Aluminium scrap from our forging plant is 100% recycled. The raw materials we use for forging are manufactured one hundred percent from recycled materials.

Resource-saving and low-carbon dioxide production is becoming increasingly important for the use of aluminium products.
Our customers are expressing the desire for a sustainable supply. MFT actively supports this by developing and implementing recycling concepts that help the customers to benefit economically from the use of the scrap produced and also allow them to act ecologically and responsibly in the process.

Our planet faces massive economic, social and environmental challenges. To address them, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), of the United Nations, define global priorities and aspirations for 2030, and represent an unprecedented opportunity to eradicate extreme poverty and put the world on a sustainable path.
The Sustainable Development Goals are a universal call to governments, society and businesses to fulfil the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for sustainable development.
MFT is also aware of its responsibility and pursues these goals together with its partners.
Our path to climate neutrality
For us at MFT, sustainability is more than just a promise - it's a responsibility. Our goal: to become climate neutral. We have already successfully offset 75% of our reported CO₂ emissions by 2024, underlining our commitment to climate protection.
But we are going even further: through targeted investments in climate protection projects, we have not only offset 165 tons of CO₂, but also actively support 9 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. These projects promote clean energy, protect valuable ecosystems and improve the living conditions of many people around the world.
Every step we take brings us closer to our vision of a climate-neutral future - for us, for our customers and for future generations.
